Abstract:

  For the problems of poor forming quality and forming limit for tailor-welded cladding sheet, with the help of the normal pressure of the cladding sheet on the tailor-welded sheet, combining with the mechanical properties of the tailor-welded sheet, a method of changing the interface friction between each area of the tailor-welded sheet and the cladding sheet was proposed to affect the deformation law of each area of the tailor-welded sheet. Then, for the bulging process of tailor-welded cladding sheet, the influence laws of different interface friction on the bulging performance of aluminum alloy tailor-welded cladding sheet were investigated by the combination method of theoretical analysis, finite element simulation and experimental verification. The results indicate that increasing the interface friction coefficient between tailor-welded sheet  and cladding sheet on the side of tailor-welded sheet with higher strength and decreasing the interface friction coefficient between tailor-welded sheet and cladding sheet on the side of tailor-welded sheet with lower strength can effectively improve the deformation uniformity, forming quality and forming limit of tailor-welded sheet, which provides a basis for optimizing the forming process parameters of the tailor-welded cladding sheet.
