Abstract:

 In order to improve the surface quality of side frame outer panel for a car, the solution and control methods for the problem of local surface wrinkles around the door holes were researched. Then, based on a certain car platform, combined with practical production experience and process, with the help of software AUTOFORM analysis, it is found that the wrinkle problems in the vertical wall of C pillar for the side frame outer panel are caused by the springback phenomenon in the drawing process and the partial over-materials of part during the shaping process, and the wrong positions of the contact material point for the shaping punch insert aggravates the above defect. The analysis and discussion show that the wrinkle problems in the vertical wall of C pillar for the side frame outer panel are solved successfully by adjusting the structure and shape of OP10 drawing process, processing to remove 1.8 mm at the defect of lower die, milling crack at the corresponding position of upper die, local welding over 2 mm,and offsetting the contact material point position between insert and part in OP40 flanging-punching process, which saves costs about RMB 1.6 million, improves the working environment, and provides the reference for the quality improvement of side frame outer panel in the automotive industry.
