Abstract:
In order to meet the needs of light weight and large capacity, thin wall and high rectangular shape have become the development trend of metal food can, and it also increases the difficulty of multi-pass deep drawing process design for food can body. Therefore, for a thin-walled high rectangle metal food can, a three-pass drawing process scheme that the elliptical transition shape was adopted in the first-pass and second-pass drawing and the high rectangle part was formed in the third-pass drawing was designed by the method of elliptical shape transition according to the uniform deformation theory and K value method, and the transition shape of each pass product was determined. Then, the forming limit diagram and the thinning rate of each pass were analyzed by numerical simulation technology, the final thinning rate was 15.4% after three-pass drawing, and the feasibility of the process scheme designed was evaluated. Finally, the production practice shows that the quality of the metal food can produced by the process scheme is good, and the thinning rate of the long and short sidewalls for the trial sample is basically consistent with the results of simulation prediction. Thus, the designed three-pass drawing process is feasible, and the applied design method has certain application value in the actual production.
