Abstract:

  Rotary bending is a special free bending method of sheet metal, and the accurate prediction of springback error is the prerequisite for controlling the accuracy of rotary bending angle. Considering that the software Dynaform could not directly realize the simulation of rotary bending, based on the analysis of DYN files generated by Dynaform preprocessor, a numerical simulation method of rotary bending was proposed by defining parameter values of rotary bending die such as reference coordinate system of inertial tensor, inertia tensor, rotation coordinate axis, degrees of freedom and curve of rotation motion. Then, comparing the simulated results with the experimental results, the feasibility and validity of the simulation method were verified. Thus, an effective way was provided for springback error prediction and springback control of rotary bending by this simulation method. So the simulation method has certain practical reference value for other numerical simulations of similar rotary forming.
