Abstract:
In order to improve the production efficiency of cover nut and meet the batch production demand, a new cold forming process of integral cover nut was studied to replace the original forming process of combined welding cover nut. On the basis of plastic forming theory, the forming process of cover nut was simulated by finite element software DEFROM-3D. Based on Archard wear theory, three kinds of upper punch structures were optimized to prolong the service life of upper punch. Then, combined with orthogonal test, a four-level test table with five factors such as initial hardness, fillet, velocity and front angle of upper punch as well as friction coefficient was designed, and the influences of various test factors on the wear of upper punch were studied. With the minimum wear of upper punch as the objective of optimization, the optimum parameters for the forming of cover nut were obtained, and the service life of upper punch was predicted according to the optimum parameters. Finally, the actual production test was carried out. And the quality of cover nut obtained is good, which has a certain guiding role for the design work of technicians.
