Abstract:

For the shell of an electronic connector, the  multi-position stamping process of thin-walled part was studied by CAE technology. First of all, the forming defects of part were predicted by the numerical simulation of one-step drawing, and then the multi-position stamping process plan and layout diagram of part were determined. Then, the multi-position and complete process simulation method was adopted, and through the combination of different forming process parameters, the whole forming process of part was continuously simulated and optimized to achieve the accuracy and usability requirements by part drawing. Finally, the stamping test of part was conducted by the best combination of process parameters in simulation, then the actual stamping part was detected and analyzed. The results show that the simulation results of multi-position and complete process forming are in agreement with the experimental results. Therefore, the numerical simulation method of multi-position and complete process is effective and feasible in the design process of multi-position progressive die, and the cycle of part development and die test are shorten.
