Abstract:

 

 
According to the structural characteristics of left-side headgear groove for automobile and the technical requirements of actual production, the multi-station layout design was carried out. In order to solve the rigidity problem of sheet metal during the transportation process, a symmetric double-row structure was designed in the layout, the guiding holes were located on the both sides of the center of sheet metal, which were symmetrically arranged to ensure the feeding accuracy, and the step was determined by the guiding pin. Then, the multi-station progressive die of the left-side headgear groove for automobile adopted the direct loading structure, and the workpiece and the waste were naturally separated to reduce labor costs. At the same time, the design of empty work station was not conducted because of the low accuracy requirement of headgear groove parts for automobile, the overall volume of die was reduced, and the cost of die manufacturing was reduced. The production results show that the multi-station progressive die of left-side headgear groove for automobile can meet the production requirements. In addition, the material utilization rate of die is up to 71.09% to save materials.
