Abstract:

For the technology of hydroforming of thin-walled hollow parts with variable cross section for automobile, in order to study the influences of different pre-bending processes and friction coefficient on the hydroforming quality of part, the influences of the rotation bending process, the bending process without internal pressure support and the bending process with internal pressure support, and different friction coefficients between die and tube during the hydroforming on the maximum thinning rate, the maximum thickening rate and the maximum gap between die and tube were analyzed comparatively by the finite element software AUTOFORM. The results show that under the bending process with internal pressure support, the wall thickness distribution is more uniform, the maximum gap between the die and the tube is smaller, and the dimension accuracy is higher than the other two kinds of pre-bending forming processes. Meanwhile, during the hydroforming process, the smaller the friction coefficient between die and tube is, the better the material fluidityis, the more uniform the wall thickness distribution is, and the smaller the maximum gap between die and tubeis.
