Title:Design of preforming for rib-web aluminum alloy forgings based on electrostatic field

Abstract:

Due to the partial draining caused by unreasonable structure of preformed billet in the forming process of rib-web aluminum alloy aviation forgings, taking H-shape aluminum alloy forgings as study object, a direct design method of preformed billet, namely electrostatic field method, was proposed by similarity principle. Then, seven groups of preformed billet were designed by electrostatic field simulation, and the forming processes were simulated respectively by software ANSYS. Furthermore, the most proper preformed billet scheme was achieved by comparing partial draining tendentiousness, forming load, equivalent strain rate and equivalent strain of every scheme. The results show that the preformed billet designed by the electrostatic field method is better than that designed by the traditional method. The preformed billet with the electric potential value of 0.125 V in the forming process is of the smallest partial draining tendentiousness and meets the filling requirements at the same time with the smallest forming load comparing to the other schemes.
