Title:Optimization on process parameters of hot precision forging for synchronizer ring based on RSM and PSO

Abstract:
 In order to improve the material utilization in hot precision forging for synchronizer ring, an integrated optimization strategy was proposed based on response surface model (RSM) and particle swarm optimization (PSO), and the response surface model with the weighted grading values and the main process parameters was established by selecting the initial billet temperature, punch velocity, friction factor and billet height as design variables based on the data normalization method and the linear weighted method. Then, the best result of the predictive model in the feasible solution space was searched. The results show that the optimal process parameters are the initial billet temperature of 725 ℃, punch velocity of 200 mm·s-1, friction factor of 0.4 and billet height of 15.5 mm. Finally, the production practice and CAE analysis show that the synchronizer ring fills full without fold, and the material utilization increases by 9.44%.
