Abstract:

For the structure of military vehicle frame longitudinal beam having the characteristics of similarity, symmetry and various modification schemes, a flexible stamping die was designed, which shared a set of punch and die. The straight line segments of punch and die are adjustable along the length and width directions, a variety of change schemes for the straight line segments were achieved by replacing, moving or flipping inserts. And the curve segments adopted reversible inserts to meet different structures of curve segments by replacing and flipping inserts. Finally, the design scheme of die was verified by the trial production. The result shows that not only the right and left frame longitudinal beams for the same type of vehicle, but also various modification schemes of vehicle frame based on the same platform can be realized by a set of punch and die. Compared with the traditional structure of die, the cost, the number of assemblies and the development cycle are all reduced by more than 50% by taking the flexible stamping die.
