Title:Study on isothermal forging process for complex boxshaped parts of aluminum alloy 5A06

Abstract:

For the complex boxshaped parts of aluminum alloy 5A06, the isothermal forging process of preforming before the final forging process was confirmed by finite element simulation software Deform, and the preformed die and final die were designed by the reverse compensation method. In 20 MN hydraulic press, the aluminum plate was preforged, and then the isothermal final forging was conducted. In the isothermal final forging, the temperature of die was(450±10)℃, the temperature of aluminum alloy 5A06 performed was (460±10)℃, and the highest forming force was 14000 kN. The isothermal forging experiment shows that the finite element analysis software Deform has a strong guiding significance for the study of isothermal forging process, and the forging quality can be greatly improved by preforming before the final forging process. In addition, the aluminum alloy 5A06 isothermal forging boxshaped part is better than the machined one with tensile strength up to 350 MPa and elongation A up to 25%.
