Abstract:

Metal spinning is a kind of forming process which is suitable for forming thin wall revolving body. The forming process of cone box shaped parts by spinning has been the focus and the difficult point in research. In order to broaden the horizon of research, the spinning process was designed by the steplength method with fixed initial angle to produce a roller path of the hollow spinning without die. Then, the roller path was deduced by analyzing the geometry relationship of the cone box shaped parts and turned it into NC code to finish forming. Thus, the part made by this method meets the requirements without other common surface defects such as skin, ripple, bulging, and cracks.
