Abstract:

For an important part on the automobile drive shaft such as the face tooth flange fork, the problems of large flash, low utilization rate of material and high product cost etc. in the forging process were analyzed, an improved forging process of the face tooth flange fork was put forward, and its forging process was simulated by software Deform-3D. Furthermore, a combined mould structure was designed, and the lower mould was not fixed so as to replace conveniently. Then, the pre-forging fork was put upward, and the positioning step was designed to ensure the symmetry of the cavity and the blank position. Furthermore, the symmetry between the mold and the height of stopper was ensured by adjusting limit block. The practice production shows that the face tooth flange fork manufactured by the improved forging process can meet the mechanical property requirements, the material utilization rate increases to more than 90%, and the production efficiency is increased by 10%-15%.
