Abstract:

The distributions of inner diameter expansion amount, outer diameter deviation, wall thickness deviation in the axial direction of workpieces were obtained by measuring the inner and outer diameter values at different locations in the axial direction of workpieces, and the influences of process parameters on the dimensional accuracy of workpieces were acquired based on single factor experimental method. The result shows that during the cylinder stagger forward forming, the feed ratio is the most influential factor on the inner diameter expansion amount, and the reduction ratio follows. The biggest inner diameter expansion amount decreases with the increase of feed ratio and reduction ratio. However, a relatively small radial offset is helpful to reduce the biggest inner diameter expansion amount. Furthermore, influences of process parameters on the outer diameter deviation and the wall thickness deviation are almost the same. Both outer diameter deviation and wall thickness deviation increase with the increase of reduction ratio and radial offset. The outer diameter deviation and the wall thickness deviation at the bottom and the mouth of workpieces increase with the increase of feed ratio, while they first increase and then decrease in the middle of workpieces.
