Abstract:

The multi-directional forging process of body frame was conducted by finite element simulation software Deform-3D, and the forming properties, the metal flowing rule,the effective strain, the stress distribution and the curve of pressing load were analyzed. The trial products were obtained when the production verification was done. The results show that the metal material fills well, and the qualified product is obtained. The total forming time of a single product is about 1.3 s, and the required load changes gently during the whole forming process. However, sharp increase appears at 0.5 s and 1.1 s, and the maximum forming force is about 2270 kN. The trial products and the simulation results have a good consistency. The shape of body frame is qualified and the flash is reasonable. The flow of materials is in good agreement with that of simulation.
