Abstract:

For the problem that the six-roller straightener could not straighten the tube ends by “three-point bending”, the composite roll shape straightener with hyperbolic roller curve and two-roller reverse bending curve was adopted to straighten the total length of the tube. According to the metal elastic-plastic theory, the hardening tube bending monment formula was deduced. Based on the formula, the optimized reverse bending curvature ratio was calculated via Matlab which is different from that depending on experience as usual. The roller curve was calculated via Matlab and the corresponding roller curve graph was drawn. The FEM(finite element model) of composite roll shape straightener was built and the straighten process was simulated by the finite element software Marc, and the optimized bending and squash amount were determined by numberical simulation analysis such as the first pair of rollers 1.0 mm, the second pair of rollers 1.15 mm, the third pair of rollers 1.15 mm, the forth pair of rollers 0.4 mm and squash amount 11.5 mm.
