Abstract:

Based on the structural features of a type of heterodont teeth disc-hub, a cold extrusion process was developed. Combining the FEM analysis with orthogonal experimental design based on three objective functions of the maximum forging load, the filling tooth situation and the maximum damage, the influences of the half cone angle into the die, the fillet radius of the die, the billet diameter, the friction coefficient and the extrusion speed on forming property were studied by numerical simulation software. The analysis result shows that the half cone angle into the die, the fillet radius of the die and the billet diameter have a significant influence on the forming, and the optimal process parameters are the half angle into the die 40°, the fillet radius of the die 3 mm and the billet diameter Φ53.5 mm. It is showed that products with good quality are obtained by the optimized cold extrusion technology.
