Abstract:

In order to solve the unstable phenomenon that occurred in the roll forging of 16 coupler yoke, the reasons of issue were analyzed by combining the producing situation, and the idea that improved deformation stability with anti-destabilization groove was put forward and was applied to the roll forging die. The numerical simulation analysis was carried out by QForm, and the influences of torsion angle error of the feed billet on stability were found. Comparing the simulation results of roll forging processes with and without anti-destabilization groove, it is showed that the anti-destabilization groove can effectively reduce torsional instability in roll forging which was caused by small feeding angle error in long axial roll forging. The roll forging process test of 16 coupler yoke was carried out, and the result demonstrates that the anti-destabilization groove can effectively solve the unstable phenomenon in the roll forging process of 16 coupler yoke.
