Abstract:

Flash with gutter has a capacity of storing unnecessary metal and adjusting the changing volume of billet automatically. In order to realize the heating closed forging of gear without flash and gutter, the process of  gear per-forging forming was analyzed by Deform software for a flashless open-forging piece from Balat FAW Foundry Co., Ltd. The results show that more heat will be generated, which increases the plasticity at vertical flash, meanwhile the material will drain out and be unfavorable for filling the cavity. The generating of vertical non-flash can be avoided by the sunken punch. In the pre-forging process, the location with skins produces greater deformation and larger deformation resistance. The lifetime of die can be prolonged by the application of high-quality inserts.
