Abstract:
For the swing rolling finish forging process of valve blank in engine, the forming process of blank was simulated numerically by Deform-3D software, and the experiment was conducted by the swing rolling machine. The swing rolling principle was discussed based on the analysis of sample surface quality and combining with the stress field, strain rate field and velocity field distribution of the sample at different deformation stages obtained by the numerical simulation. The results show that when swing rolling process is applied for the finish forging in valve, it is not only feasible, but also has some advantages in the die forging process. The valve produced by swing rolling forging has the characteristics of close and smooth forging flow lines, cylindrical orbital plate without flash, less surface oxide, valve plate that uneasy to crack and so on.
