Abstract:
During automobile panel stamping forming process, there are many process parameters which have great effect on the forming quality of parts. Exampled by panel lower back of a certain automotive body, the method of orthogonal experiment was used to research the effects of stamping process parameters such as blank holder force, stamping speed, friction coefficient and die clearance on the maximum thinning rate and the maximum thickening rate. The results show that the impact of each factor on the objectives is not identical. The effects on the maximum thinning rate from strong to weak serially are friction coefficient, blank holder force, die clearance and stamping speed. For the maximum thickening rate, blank holder force is of the greatest impact, friction coefficient is of the secondary one, while die clearance and stamping speed have only a little effect. Based on the orthogonal experiment, the four process parameters were optimized. Through the results of finite element simulation based on the optimized process, it can be found that each of the maximum thinning rate and the maximum thickening rate have been effectively controlled, and better forming quality of parts is got.
