Abstract:

The steering curve arm with high drop is prone to lack of metal and underfilling during the final forging. By combining experiment and finite element analysis, the billet movement during final forging was analyzed. The pre-pressing process before final forging was proposed, and the improved process was studied. The results show that by using the pre-pressing process the positioning difficulty of billet in final forging mold cavity, obsolescence rate of product and proficiency requirements for workers are reduced, and the process stability, production efficiency and equipment utilization are improved.
