Abstract:

 The effects of rotational speed on the microstructure and mechanical properties of copper strip during continuous extrusion were studied using the combination of numerical simulation and engineering test. The temperature distributions of material and die under different rotational speeds during continuous extrusion of copper strip were analyzed by numerical simulation. The microstructure and mechanical properties of products under different speeds were achieved by the analysis of samples from engineering test. The results show that the temperatures of die open and blank in chamber increase with the increased rotational speed of extrusion wheel, and so does the percentage of recovery and recrystallization of grain,even grows up. While the tensile strength, hardness and elongation decrease with the increased rotational speed.
