Abstract:

Based on the FEM software Simufact.Forming, a finite element model of radial-axial rolling for one ring product was constructed and the rolling process of different drum-shaped blanks were simulated, which revealed the variation of drum-shaped blank in the rolling process and analyzed the formation process and eliminating measures of collapse defect. The results show that the drum disappearing rate in initial rolling stage is greater than the one in later stage and more difficult to disappear, which leads to collapse defect in the end. When the drum-shaped ring blank is equal or greater than 120 mm, the drum-shape will lead to collapse defect finally; while the drum-shaped ring blank is equal or less than 90 mm, the drum-shape will not lead to collapse defect finally. Aiming at the collapse defect being avoided, the drum-shape can be reduced by adopting greater radial feed in initial rolling stage in the case of small drum-shape or adding one rolling process in the case of large drum-shape.
