Abstract:

An anti-collision beam and die were investigated by combination of finite element simulation and tryout methods. The effect of die elastic deformation to springback prediction accuracy was studied. The results show that when panel is formed, the contact pressure between binder and die is 0.02~0.04 GPa and the value is 0~0.01 GPa in the center area between punch and die. Combined with die tryout results, the springback prediction error by simulation with compensated die face is reduced by 17% in average. The simulation method considering die elastic deformation can improve the springback prediction accuracy greatly for ultra high strength steel panels.
