Abstract:

The thin-walled shell of 5A06 alloy is originally formed by rod material through loose tool forging, which has big machining allowance and high cost. The deep-drawing method of sheet was put forward by process analysis. Through the optimal design of the mold,and adapting the intermediate annealing measure during the drawing process, the cold deformation strengthening was greatly eliminated, the forming properties of the material were improved and the right size of workpieces with the qualified mechanical properties were obtained. With new process, the material utilization can be increased three times more than before,the machining margin decreases by 88%, and the cost is greatly reduced.
