Abstract:

Cold drawing  is highly effective for forming small-bore thick walled spherical head of high pressure container. The structural dimension, technical parameters, structure of die, as well as demoulding and heat treatment were analyzed. The experiment shows that outer diameter and thickness of blank, thickness of chamfered edge, die form, demoulding and heat treatment  have effects on product quality. The detrimental effects such as thickness reduction, crack and “stop and wait” were avoided due to optimized main technical parameters, reasonable die design as well as post treatment. As a result, the qualified product was obtained.
