Abstract:

Laser alloying treatment test was carried out on Style crank die material 5CrMnMo steel surface in order to improve its service life. Both microstructure and distribution of micro hardness of the material were investigated after laser alloying. Crack free and shaped alloying layer which was metallurgically boned with substrate was fabricated through processing parameter optimization. The experimental results show that laser alloying with the allying material as coat improves the original microstructure evidently, the average hardness is proved to be HV0.2750, and the service life of Style crank die is significantly increased by 60%.
