Abstract:

The differences of Ti-1023 titanium alloy forging fold defect and shrinkage holes defect by forging were studied. The results show that the width change of Ti-1023 titanium alloy forging fold defect is not obvious, both ends are round, and defect embeds in matrixes with an angle. Furthermore, the content of surface oxygen element is higher and it generates a great deal of oxide particles. However Ti-1023 titanium alloy shrinkage holes defect by forging possesses obvious second cracks, both ends are pointed. Defect surface is free surface withont oxygen element.
