Abstract:

How to create an exact finite element model of the weld bead is the urgent issue that needs to be solved during numerical simulation research of TWB with equal thickness and the same material. The hardness values of welded bead and heat affected zone in TWB were measured by tensile test, and were analyzed and calculated to obtain the mechanical properties of materials in TWB. And the finite element model of weld bead was set up. Then with the FEM software Dynaform 5.5,the finite element model of the weld bead was used in numerical simulation of TWB.Finally, through the comparison of simulation and test results, the practicality of the method to establish weld model was verified.
