Abstract:

The effect of the compression between the punch and the die on springback after the punch reaching the dead point was evaluated. Utilizing the elasticplastic FEM, the forming and springback process of high strength V shape sheet was simulated. The investigation was also carried out through experiment. The result shows that springback decreases as the ratio of the average pressure and tensile strength increase. The radius of the punch and the die has little influence on the springback. Fine meshing can improve the precision of springback simulation. The results of 2D plain strain element with fine meshes are in good agreement with the experiment results.
