Abstract:

The finite element software MSC.MARC was used to simulate tailor welded blanks of different thickness ratios by roll forming. The reason of non uniform equivalent stress along cross section was analyzed and the distribution characteristics was given. When two side thickness ratio is 0.67,the result of the present study suggests that the best strength ratio is 1.4; when the strength ratio is 1, the study result suggests that the forming result would be good when the thickness ratio is lower than 2.
