Abstract:

The numerical simulation algorithm for the extrusion stretch forming was developed based on BWC shell element and dynamic explicit method. The motion mechanism of the stretch machine was analyzed by this algorithm. The trajectory of the clamp was simulated by the way of constraint velocity, and the nodes in the area of the clamp were constraint nodes, so the accuracy of the clamp velocity loading could be guaranteed. The extrusion stretch forming simulation of a rectangular crosssection bending piece was carried on with a load path provided by the literature, and the comparisons between the results calculated by this algorithm and the experimental results were compared. The conclusion can be drawn that this algorithm is precise in the extrusion stretch forming simulation.
