Abstract:

The forging accuracy of the pieces and the stress condition of the press are directly affected by the angle holding precision of the moving beam for large-scale die forging press. The synchronous balance system of a large-scale die forging press was analyzed firstly and then an MIMO mathematical model of the system was built. Aiming at the characters of time\|varying, time-delay, strongly coupling and nonlinear, the model predictive control was chosen to ensure the angle holding precision of the moving beam. The simulation results show that comparing to conventional PID control method, the MPC has the advantage of high control precision, fast response and good stability.
