Abstract:

Explosive forming process of square tube crystallizer was experimentlly studied and ANSYS/LS-DYNA was used to simulate the forming process. The results of the numerical simulation and that of the experiment are basically the same. When ANSYS/LS-DYNA was used to simulate the metal explosive forming process and simplify appropriately the explosive load, the basic result was not changed. The theoretic explosive distribution was achieved according the result of the numerical simulation. The best forming result could be got when the explosive thickness of the rounded part is 1.75 times of that for the straight part.
