Abstract:

Some effecting factors and principals in manufacturing a large-scale head were studied by modeling and numerical simulations. The experimental results show that enlarging the rounding of up anvil decreases the deformation at the center of the billet, concave lower anvil is efficiently used in decreasing cracks on the bottom surface and inclusion defects in the samples. The results are significant for new proper forging craft.
