Abstract:

A simulation system of dynamic virtual scene of press brake based on virtual reality was investigated and implemented. In the system, the graphics platform with stereo 3D effects was established by using OpenGL. The virtual scene of press brake was built based on scene graph and extrude model techniques for organizing and modifying it easily. The control strategy was completed by building the animation manager to update the scene graph. Simultaneously,flexible simulation of sheet metal and bending process were achieved by morph target animation technology and the length of board can transform in the bending process. The application shows that the developed system can make the virtual scene more realistic and be used in other fields of sheet metal widely.
