Abstract:

Rectangular box, due to its self-enclosed structure and complex moulding surfaces, is very hard to use the existing precision forming technologies, which breeds certain risks in production. FEM model using PAMSTAMP was established based on Lagrange's dynamic constitutive equation to analyze the forming process of rectangular box with convex flange. A series of optimal values were explored and developed in terms of blank spreading, multi-steps die structure and blank-holder force. An effective set of forming method was built. It leads to pioneering a novel way of forming for the successive production of similar parts.
