Abstract:

The macrostructure defects appeared in the inner of GH4169 alloy free forging ring were tested and analyzed by applying a method of synthesizing VIR and VCR. By dissecting and observing macrostructure pattern and comparing the defective area with the normal area by energy spectrum analysis, the results were found that the defects may be caused by segregation of Nb and Ti elements and accumulation of δ phase and MC.The suggestion to avoid the defects is also proposed.
