Abstract:

Press brake is vital in the manufacturing process of sheet metal. According to the disadvantages of hydraulic press brake in productivity and positioning accuracy, a new system of press brake driven directly by servo motor was presented. In the system, PLC was used as slave unit, and touch panel as master unit and the parallel structure mode was adopted as the synchronous control method. This system has simple structure, excellent performances on HMI, maintainability and portability. Experiment results show that the positioning accuracy in Y-axis can reach ±0.01 mm and the repeating accuracy reaches ±0.001 mm, which can meet the equirements of press brakes.
