Abstract:

The traditional process of extrusion is often determined based on experiences, which requires repeatedly testing and repairing dies, and there exists a long cycle and high-cost problems. Two cold extrusion programs of hexagonal bowl part were simulated based on the Deform-3D software,the two-steps extrusion included the first direct cold extrusion and the second inverted extrusion and the combined cold extrusion. The simulated test results of maximum strain-effective and maximum stress-effective and maximum velocity-total distribution were comparatively analysised. The forming-ability of the hexagonal bowl part which is applied the program of combined cold extrusion to making is better than the other program, so the program of combined cold extrusion is more reasonable. At last, the combined cold extrusion program is feasible to form hexagonal bowl part by practicable production.
