Abstract:

Cavity initiation, growth and coalescence phenomena during the hot tension testing were established to obtain  the selection method of cavity initiation strain and fracture strain. The FEM analyses and uniaxial hot tension tests were used to obtain the threshold of the damage of Mn18Cr18N steel in high temperature ductile region. The cavity initiation and the opportunity of fracture in the hot forging and the FEM prediction were compared .The results show that C+L gives moderately good correlation between the hot forging testing and the forecast result. An alternate comparison based on the R+T model tends to overestimate the incidence of damage.
