Abstract:

In-mold assembly is one of the most important development directions of multi-shot injection molding. For some complex parts (such as articulated part),the conventional method is to manufacture each part separately and being assembled with subsequent operation. In\|mold assembly can complete one time molding and it possesses more superiority than conventional method, either in factory cost or part precision. Based on the introduction of the foundation theory of IMA,current situation of study in this technology was analyzed in detail. Then focal point and difficult point in the following research were discussed thoroughly and prospect of IMA in research and application was analyzed based on examples. At last, some research results and subsequent research contents were introduced.
