Abstract:

Deep drawing experiments were performed by using an improved novel hydro-mechanical deep drawing die. A process plan adequate to the novel die was designed. Experiments were operated using the blanks with different diameters. The process parameters were different in each experiment. Some workpieces with 2.63 drawing ratio were obtained. It indicates that the limit drawing ratio of a blank can be improved finitely by means of pressure fluid. The hydraulic pressure zone which makes the deep drawing operation perform successfully decreases with the diameter of the blank.
