Abstract:

The main technologies of mould manufacturing for die forging were introduced and the utilization of high speed cutting technology in connecting rod die forging process was systematically illustrated. The advantages of this method for making  connecting rod mould, the characteristics of high speed machine tool, advantages of CAD/CAM design and manufacture, research on key processing methods and parameters during manufacturing were discribed. On the basis of the sample mould, the advantages of less producing time and higher precision on mould surface of high speed cutting method were further put forward. Finally, the problems in connecting rod mould manufacturing with high speed cutting technology and the corresponding solutions were proposed.
