Abstract:
In this paper, the problem of the circle packing on a roll material is discussed in the view of the utilization rate of the sheet. There are three methods for the circle packing on a roll material which are parallel arrangement, interlaced arrangement and oblique arrangement based on interlaced arrangement.Because of reducing the clearance between the circles, and that also between the circles and edge of the roll material, the last method is considered to be the best one.But when and which is the best concretely? How much does it improve compared with others? This paper analyses these methods mentioned above from the aspects of the theoretical analysis and data simulation and experimental studies. The result shows that the third one is better than others. And the best one of all oblique arrangements is oblique arrangement with the most rows.It increases the utilization rate by 6% higher than that of the parallel arrangement at most;and Its' advantage against interlaced arrangement is weakened when the width of the roll material is increased.
