Abstract：

This paper introduces resumptively the finite element methods used in metal forming and discusses the key technique of finite element simulation, which includes geometrical modeling, element type selecting, meshing and remeshing, contact and friction problem In addition, the particular application of three dimensional finite element simulation in metal forming was shown combined with a practical example In the end, opinions were advanced based on existing problems
