Abstract:

Reverse engineering (RE) is made up of the processes of acquiring immense data from existing objects and creating geometric model. The key technology related to RE includes digitizaion, data processing, and surface reconstruction. Because of its efficiency, RE can play an important role in modern mold design. How to use OpenGL to generate 3D realistic image with high quality and carry out complex curve and surface renconstruction is the main focus of the paper.
