Abstract:
Dynamic explicit algorithm and static implicit algorithm are major algorithms in FEM. Static implicit has been thought to be reasonable and more accurate for sheet metal forming, because it is an almost static state. It is, however, time consuming and needs a lot of computer space. Dynamic explicit is more efficient and needs less computer space. In this paper the author uses ANSYS, which is based on static implicit algorithm, and ANSYS/LS-DYNA, which is based on dynamic explicit algorithm, separately to simulate the process of sheet metal forming and the results of these methods are compared with the data of experimentation and the results of simulation are verified.
